Coastal Louisiana and Texas warned of tropical storm as a potential hurricane moves toward Hawaii

A tropical storm warning has been issued for the Gulf of Mexico coast. Maximum sustained winds of a potential cyclone were reported at 35 mph. This system is expected to gain strength and become a named storm.

Tropical Storm Lowell is moving west in the Pacific Ocean with winds of 65 mph, and may intensify into a hurricane. Another storm, Hurricane Karina, has strengthened into a powerful Category 4 storm.
