A vacant seat has been filled by the ECISD Board of Trustees. Rosalita Veronica Garcia, a former teacher, was chosen for the position after a special board meeting. Garcia has over 25 years of education experience, having served in various roles such as an elementary Gifted-Talented Bilingual teacher and a library clerk.
The selection was made after trustees interviewed four applicants in a closed session. Garcia was appointed with a 5-0-1 vote, with one trustee abstaining. Her term will run until May 2027, at which point she will need to run for election to remain in the position.
